I LOVE HOMEWORK!
I LOVE WEB DESIGN!
1) Plain, unappealing and boring.
2) In my opinion, I think this site is made for the middle-aged woman probably in their late 20′s to early 30′s. Their designs are considered quite “mature” for the ladies.
3) Positive attributes? The website provides most of the information customers will need. The links are pretty obvious at the top of the page, nicely placed.
4) Negative attributes? Plenty! Firstly, there is a problem with their navigation links. When you click on either the “Home” or “Outlet” links, you can still see the “Contact us” link. But when you click on another link, say….”Services”, the link for “Contact us” disappears. I believe that they should work that part of the web site.
Another problem about the website is that the colours they use for their background and font is way too similar. Its difficult to look at the words properly.
And also, on their “Contact Us” list, the numbers are arranged in a very weird manner. They should just keep the numbers in a standard size. Making it big and small is quite disturbing for the human eye.

I HATE WEB DESIGN! I HATE STUDYING! I HATE THAT PIECE OF USELESS DIPLOMA PAPER!
but I still have to get it no matter what. So…here are my answers for this week’s lecture questions, Ms Ester.
What is Browser-Safe Color Palette / Web-Safe Colors?
- Browser-Safe Color Palette/ Web-Safe Colors refers to the colors that are safe to use on the web? Okay. Its a little vague but…seems that way right? Actually, my actual answer is —> “Web-safe colors are colors that can be used across any web platform to correctly show the colors correctly when running a 256 color palette.”
Is it still relevant in today’s context? Why?
- Well…it isn’t as important now as in the past. Since technology advances so quickly, we are able to view at least 16000+ colors on any web browser now. And thanks to technology, we can have more colourful websites! *yay-ness*
What are the common fonts face found on PC & Mac?
– Ah. There are way too many to name so…I’ll just name a few general ones.
-=> Arial , Comic Sans MS , Courier New , Georgia , Impact , Lucida Console , Lucida Sans Unicode , Tahoma , Times New Roman , Trebuchet MS and so on.
What is page loading time and how it influence your design?
- Page loading time is the time when you type the URL of the website and press “enter”, to the point when the website completely finishes loading. Yes, the awfully long waiting time for fanciful websites and wonderfully short waiting time for mediocre website. The more fanciful your page design is, the longer it takes for others to load your website. So, always try to minimise your picture’s file size to ensure others have a pleasant viewing experience ^^
The 150 word essay.
Okay. Here’s my opinion about the process of web design. IT’S HELL! HELL I TELL YOU! HELLLL!
Kay’. No more rantings. Time to get serious. Creating a website and designing it isn’t as simple as ABC or 123 or ichi , ni , san. We have to plan many many things, and taking many other things into consideration so that you can fully utilise your website.
Firstly, its the Instructional Design Process. This is the point where we can choose to make mistakes and edit before it’s too late. We design and discuss with others about the initial stage of the website.
Secondly, its the main Design Process. This is the point where we do our research, explore different possibilities of designs and the typography of the website layout. Then the next few steps are to just explore more possibilites and designs.
Thirdly, the Web Design Workflow. This is the step where we have to consult our clients to see if the design or the website is to their liking. In my opinion, this is the most frustrating part of the entire designing process. If your client dislikes your entire idea…good game to you. Can say hi to Jesus already. Time to start from scratch again. Well…if your client likes your entire idea, then good game to you also. Happy doing up your XHTML and CSS.
Well…this is roughly what designing a website is like.
A gentle note to my dear friends [ Priscilla, Xue Wen, Wan Xin, Yi You, Jing Wen and Mei Yi ] in IM, enjoy your life of codings. Hahahaha!
